Narrator: We are here in court with Jack Merridew and Ralph,
parents and teachers are trying to decide their punishments and what happened to
the orderliness of the island.
Judge: Order in the
court, the people has called Jack Merridew to the stand you must swear to tell
the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Child psychologist: We would like to know what happened on
the island and why two boys did not get to come home to their families.
Jack Merridew: Your honor, we were on the island and
everyone elected Ralph to be president which made me mad. But they made me
leader of the hunting boys and my job was to get the food. But Ralph yelled at
me for letting the fire go out while I was hunting. But my job was to hunt not
to watch the fire.
Ralph: But there was a ship and I thought it was all of our
jobs to help each other get off the island.
Judge: Order Order, no speaking out of turn will be allowed,
continue Jack.
Jack: I finally thought Ralph wasn’t eligible to be chief
for being scared to go near the beast. So I asked to be chief and nobody voted
for me. So I started my own tribe and Ralph being better than me burned inside
my heart.
Ralph: Hater!
Judge: Order Order, no speaking out of turn will be allowed,
continue Jack.
Jack: So I stole his fire and also stole Piggy’s glasses, so
one day he decided to check out what we were doing. We saw a figure running and
thought it was the beast so we decided to kill it.
Ralph: It was Simon!
Judge: Will you be quiet. If I here another word from
you I will throw you in jail for 18 years!!! Order, continue Jack.
Jack: It happened to be Simon, but he was already dead so oh
well to him. I have to admit we didn’t feel bad for anything, we moved on with
our lives. Another thing is Piggy didn’t know how to shut up. He kept going on
about how he had the conch, so he was pushed into the ditch and Roger rolled a
rock on him.
Ralph Your Honor, did Jack tell you about how he tied
SamnEric together, whipped them and forced them to be savages.
Judge: I thought I told you… oh he did, did he?
Ralph: He also chased me around the island trying to kill
me. Ask the naval officer, he’ll tell you it’s true.
Judge: I call the Naval officer to the stand.
Naval Officer: It’s true. They was chasing the boy, trying
to kill him with their pointy sticks.
Judge: I call the parents of Jack to the stand
Child psychologist: We would like to know how Jack behaves
at home and around his friends, is he a sweet boy or is he evil.
Jack’s mom: Jackie is the most sweet, lovable boy ever. He
always is giving a helping hand.
Jack’s Dad: Jack is lazy he is a slob. His room is a disaster
area. We shouldn’t let him eat in his room anymore.
Child psychologist: Jack sounds like a slob and a nice kid.
I’m pretty sure the wild changes you.
Jack’s teacher: Jack never gets his work done. He is lazy,
but he is proper, a very good gentleman, and very nice. So I’m not sure why he
would do such thing.
Judge: I think Ralph should tell what is a lie in Jack’s
story.
Ralph: Jack was telling the truth about everything, he just
left out a lot of parts.
Judge: The jury has come to a conclusion.
Ralph’s Mom: I have the right to speak and you will let me.
Judge: I have the right to throw you in jail for however
long I want, but I choose not to, the jury chose that Jack is guilty of
manslaughter and theft, Jack is rightfully sentenced to twenty years of prison.
Jack: What! I am the best choir boy, they need me
Judge: And the jail needs fresh kids.
Jacks Dad: You have shamed the Merridew family you are
forbidden to have kids and your mother and I will have another son to replace
you.
Jacks Mom: But we still love you.
Narrator: In the end Jack goes to jail. His parents replace
him. Ralph is innocent. And all is right with the world.
